Some Heroes Speculation

It seems to me that the three Petrelli sons are being developed into a very neat set:
Nathan: Will
Gabriel: Mind
Peter: Heart
Gabriel's power is mind intensive. Peter's power is empathic. Nathan is strong-willed, and Arthur pointed out that in ep9. My question is....with this nice set, could Nathan possibly have a yet unmanifested power related to his will? It just makes sense. After Peter got Gabriel's power I knew that Gabriel would get Peter's. I wasn't sure how it would happen, but I was right. When Sylar said Claire was special, I knew it meant more than just the fact that she could regenerate, and I was right then too. I'm not saying my speculation will be 100% accurate, but there does seem to be a strong inclination toward triplism in the Petrelli bros. Plus, it would explain why Nathan appeared to have no power before the Company gave him his flight ability (Peter and Gabriel's powers also couldn't be measured conventionally). Also, the writers have Heroes have explicitly stated that Arthur does not have the hunger. It seems that he has already overcome it...which means he had to have it before. How does that play into everything else? Is the hunger perhaps something related to but independent of Gabriel's power? Or has Arthur had Gabriel's power before? More and more questions keep popping into my mind.

Firefox 3

Today at noon Central Time (only an hour from now!) Firefox 3 will be released. :D If you haven't read about it, it has Microsoft shaking in their boots. It is faster than any browser out there so far. I'm downloading it today. ^_^

Lasiks and Books

I have been back from my trip for a couple of days now. While I was gone I tried to have laser eye surgery done, but my eye is of a certain shape that the suction cup used in the surgery cannot hold onto my eye. So I can't have lasiks... Well, the doctor said that I can have PRK laser surgery done, but I will have to have it done later. So it is still possible I can have my eyes corrected in the future. But I am content with whatever way God leads. :) I trust it is all for the best. On a different note, I also got some new books while I was gone: The Shaping of Things to Come, Preaching on Your Feet, and Starting a House Church. I thought they would be good to read. ^_^

Follower of Jesus on the Mozilla Staff

Gervase Markham, one of the staff members of Mozilla (http://www.mozilla.org/about/staff), is a believer and proudly professes so on his blog: http://www.gerv.net/hacking/why-hacking-for-christ.html. Here's a link to his blog "Hacking for Christ": http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/gerv/. I just thought it was really neat when I found out that one of the Mozilla staff was a Christian (another reason to use Fire fox ;). I contacted him and let him know what I thought. I also asked if there were any other believers on the Mozilla team. He said that there were not many and that it was a very needy mission field. I guess more people like me (aspiring programmers) need take up our task and share the hope we have with those in the fields we are entering (programming). Anyway, I just thought I'd share that. :)

(Edited to note that I now disagree with the late Gervase Markham's theology, and I also disagree with the colonialist theology I employed in this post.)

Just For Fun

To entertain myself I took some quizzes at nerdtests.com. Here are my results:

I am nerdier than 95% of all people. Are you a nerd? Click here to find out!

The NerdTests' Space Quiz says I'm an Uber Space Nerd. What kind of space nerd are you? Click here!

My computer geek score is greater than 70% of all people in my age group! How do you compare? Click here to find out!

(Edited to remove a couple of tests with ableist language. Also, I would like to note here that these nerd tests that I took for fun back in the day were part of a pattern of behavior originating from a subset of nerd culture that engaged in misogyny. I had adopted some of the misogynistic patterns, and I firmly denounce these now.)
